Lynn Capell

Raised on Florida’s Gulf Coast, Lynn Capell has remained a lover of the tropics. After studying fine art at Florida State University she lived abroad in Italy, Brazil , New Zealand, Canada and Panama.  Lynn spent 5 years with her daughter in Panama on the flower filled Island of Taboga, off Panama’s Pacific coast, painting in plein air while running her own seaside art gallery.

In 1999 Lynn and her daughter moved from Panama to Kailua- Kona, Hawaii where the exposure to contemporary art and woodblock printing classes introduced new elements to her own style and work.  She continues to work in a variety of mediums, from painting with oils to watercolors and woodblock printing.   In Lynn Capell’s own words, “I am so very grateful…for I am only the brush."
